Cyber Security

Bernard Hyman, Oneida County Assistant District Attorney, will present information regarding cyber security.

He will inform us about cyber crime that is happening in our own community. After learning about security measures, hopefully, we will be able to protect our computers, and ourselves from the malicious hackers and scammers that are
invading our privacy via the World Wide Web of the Internet.

Bernard L. Hyman Jr. is an Assistant District Attorney for Oneida County in Utica, New York. Bernard is a proud graduate of Utica College's Economic Crime Investigation (ECI) Program. He then attended Syracuse University College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1997. Upon being admitted to the bar in 1998, Bernard became an associate at Felt Evans LLP, an insurance defense firm located in Clinton, NY.

He joined the Oneida County District Attorney's Office in 1999, fulfilling a life long dream of becoming a prosecutor. With almost ten years of banking experience and the tools he amassed as an ECI grad, he now serves as the Chief Prosecutor of the Economic Crime Unit at the DA's Office.

He also serves as Director of the Oneida County District Attorney's Reviving Baseball in the Inner-City Program which operates under the name, Officer Thomas M. Lindsey Memorial Youth Athletic League.

Bernard is now teaching as an adjunct lecturer at his alma mater, UC, where he has taught Cybercrime Law and Investigations for the past three years.
