Donna's Data

By Donna Gorrell

The new year is about to start. It's time to see how the past year will affect the direction we take in 2003.

For the past two months Dave Askew has been busy taking care of the annual food/toy drive as he has since its inception. In November and December he also managed to make the coffee/tea/cocoa AND clean up afterward. Thank you Dave. If only a few members would come forward to help out, we could have coffee/tea and cocoa at all meetings.

Bo Wozniak greets us with a smile and hands out the winning tickets at every meeting. Stop and tell him how much you appreciate that he does this. If he weren't there, would you volunteer to fill his shoes?

Jerry Finkelstein and Bill Gorrell spend several hours each month insuring that you receive a newsletter. They put on the stamps and mailing labels and then take the newsletter to the main post office for processing and delivery. Jerry also distributes extra newsletters to libraries and stores throughout the area.

John Hunter researches Internet sites and provides a column with commentary suitable for the subject matter. He does this with humor and in a timely fashion, giving us a delightful slant on places to visit.
For the past two years Dan Evans has been attending, and reporting on, the SIG meetings. He's offered you a synopsis of what transpires at those meetings. Dan stepped in to fill the shoes of Kay Janowsky, who originated the Joy of SIGs column and after two years he feels that someone with a fresh ear should step forward and continue in his place.

Bob Schaffer and I have worked on the newsletter for several years, spending many hours each month striving for a product worthy of your perusal. We, along with Lisa Britt attempt to bring you quality programs each month. Lisa also is responsible for maintaining the web site, which Dan Evans designed.

The officers of the club, President Joe Madeira, Vice-President Jerry Finkelstein, Treasurer Bill Gorrell, and Secretary Marsha Thayer, carry on their duties as defined in the bylaws, giving time and energy to these duties.

To all the volunteers of 2002 a big HURRAH! We Thank You! We need you! We need more members who will follow your lead and volunteer in 2003!
