Did You Know

Did You Know . . .

.....that "Microsoft has received reports that a small percentage of IntelliMouse Explorer, IntelliMouse Optical and Wheel Mouse Optical mouse products have stopped working or have begun to work intermittently after a period of normal use. Symptoms . . . may include the cursor not moving, mouse buttons not responding or the red tail-light not illuminating... If you live in the United States, and your IntelliMouse Explorer, IntelliMouse Optical or Wheel Mouse Optical should stop working or begin to work intermittently after normal use, Microsoft will replace the mouse free of charge." For details see http://www.TheNakedPC.com/t/515/tr.cgi?lee3

.....that you can put captured screen images (screen shots) in many applications, including Microsoft Word and Corel WordPerfect? (See page 7 for an example.) To capture an image of your screen, press Shift and Print Screen simultaneously. This copies the image of the active program to the clipboard. Go to the document in which you wish to place the screen shot, put the cursor where you want to place the image. Click Edit|Paste. If you press Print Screen alone, your entire desktop will be copied and you will have to crop to get the portion you want, but this can be useful if you want the desktop as the image.

.....that if you use similar email messages often you can make a template to save retyping? To create a template open a blank email and type in the info that you will want, leave blank spaces for new info to be added. Next, do the following depending on your mail program:
...In Outlook Express/Outlook: Click File|Save As. Name the template with the extension EML (OFT in Outlook). In the Save in: box, select Desktop. Click Save. To open the template, go to the desktop and double-click its icon.
...In Eudora: Click File|Save as Stationery. Name the template. In the Save in: box, select Desktop. Click Save. To open the template, go to the desktop and double-click its icon.
...In Netscape: Put the template's name in the Subject box. Click File|Save As|Template. The template will be saved under Templates in the Name box in the Netscape e-mail window. To open the template, click Templates, and then double-click the template in the Subject area.
